SIE
The SIE (Securities Industry Essentials) is a FINRA sponsored exam that people looking to get an investment license must now get (as of October 1, 2018).

Series 6
The Series 6 is a securities license required for individuals to be registered representatives and sell mutual funds, variable annuities, and variable life insurance.
You must have the SIE to be able to use the Series 6.
Series 63
The Series 63, The Uniform Securities Agent State Law Examination, is required by many states (including PA) for an individual to register as a registered representative. The exam covers state securities laws, rules and regulations, ethical business practices, and fiduciary obligations.
Series 26
The Series 26 exam is administered by the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority (FINRA). Passing the Series 26 exam will provide an individual with the qualifications necessary to become a limited principal and to supervise and manage sales activities for investment companies and annuities.
Series 65
The Series 65 is a securities license required by most U.S. states for individuals who act as investment advisors. The Series 65 exam, called the Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination, covers laws, regulations, ethics and topics such as retirement planning, portfolio management strategies and fiduciary responsibilities.
